Le quartier résidentiel de Elsie's River, à Cap Town en Afrique du Sud est le théatre de violentes undefined manifestations contre la ségragation raciale au sein d'une école. Deux enfants de 15 ans seront alors abatus par la police.

Les jeunes étudiants avaient adoptés le refrain de "Another Brick in the Wall (part 2)" en modifiant ses paroles par :

"We don't need no registration / We don't need no draft or War / No cruis missilas over Europe / Carter ! Brezhnev ! Leave those Kids Alone / All in all, it's just another step toward the War".

Le gouvernement décide le 2 Mai 1980 de boycotter le disque sous le motif que ce disque "est préjudiciable à l'Etat d'Afrique du sud".

undefined Du 16 au  23 Février 1981, le groupe investit le Nassau Veterans Coliseum aux Usa afin de répéter les concerts à venir aux USA. C'est réellement la première fois que que le groupe fait des répétitions grandeur nature avec les différents protagonistes, accessoires scénique et autre montage/démontage de mur.
